RMU Celebrates Public Power Week October 5-11

Rochelle Municipal Utilities is celebrating Public Power Week, Oct. 5-11, along with more than 2,000 other community-owned, not-for-profit electric utilities that collectively provide electricity to 47 million Americans.

"Public Power Week celebrates Rochelle Municipal Utilities, reliable, affordable electricity for our community," said Joe Orlikowski, Electric Superintendent. Public power puts the people of Rochelle first. Public Power Week gives us the chance to emphasize the advantages of locally grown, locally owned power to our citizens," said Orlikowski.
"Our service is reliable and safe because of the pride public power takes in Rochelle and serving our friends and neighbors," said Orlikowski. "RMU is proud to have served Rochelle for over 115 years."

Public Power Week is an annual national event coordinated by the American Public Power Association in Washington, D.C. The association represents not-for-profit, community-owned electric utilities that power homes, businesses and streets in nearly 2,000 towns and cities, serving 47 million Americans. With no divided loyalties, these utilities are focused on a single mission — providing reliable electricity at a reasonable price, while protecting the environment. More at www.PublicPower.org.
