5kv Electrical Upgrade Project Update

The electrical system infrastructure upgrade is continuing through the summer and into the fall months. Some areas will receive new wires, either overhead or underground and others will receive utility pole replacements.

Rochelle Municipal Utilities wants the community to be aware that there will be utility workers in the residential neighborhoods, mostly Monday through Friday during the hours of 7:00 am through 5:00 pm. However, some Saturday work may also take place. Currently, work is being done in the residential areas Brookside, Ridge, North Knoll, Crest Lane, Springdale and Sunnymeade.  Our crews will remove yard flags as soon as work is complete in your yard.  Please do not remove them in the meantime.  Yard restorations are slowly taking place as schedules allow for local landscapers.

Please remind children to stay away from the equipment. Residents should also be aware that utility workers may be on their property marking the placement of underground infrastructure and upgrading the system. Residents are asked to please leave the flag markers in their yard until the work is completed.
