The approved appliances and the incentive amounts are; Energy Star Refrigerator-$100.00, Energy Star Freezer-$150.00, Energy Star Window Air Conditioner-$75.00, and Energy Star Dishwasher $35.00.
The Residential Appliance Incentive Program will be available between June 1st 2011 and December 31st 2011. The applicant must be an RMU customer and the residence must be single-family owner-occupied. The items must be purchased from a Rochelle business and the applicant will be required to provide proof that the old unit was properly disposed.
The RMU customer will complete an incentive application. The application includes the information form, copy of the sales receipt, original FTC Energy Guide label and proof of disposal of the old appliance. Once the application is completed and approved, the customer will receive an incentive check within four to six weeks.
The Commercial/Industrial Lighting Incentive Program is designed to assist our commercial and industrial customers with making their business more energy efficient and reduce our electric demand. RMU will give the customer a portion of the predicted energy savings from the use of approved energy saving lighting.
The incentive amounts are calculated based on the annual base load savings ($0.0323/kWh) and the expected life of the product. Attached is a list of the incentives and the deemed electric lighting appliances annual savings.
In order to qualify for the program, the project must be a new investment that results in a permanent reduction in electrical energy usage (kWh). The decision to acquire and install the energy efficiency measures must be made after June 1, 2011. All equipment must meet or exceed the Consortium for Energy Efficiency specifications.
The customer must submit a pre-approval application after June 1st, 2011. The pre-approval application consists of the application, worksheet to calculate the incentive and any applicable contractor information. A pre-installation will also be required for verification of current fixtures. The customer will have 120 days from the pre-approval date to complete the project. The equipment installed must be the equipment listed in the pre-approval application.
Once the equipment is installed, the customer will submit a final application. The final application includes a detailed scope of the work, specification sheets for the installed equipment, and proof of payment and total project costs. A site inspection may be required. The customer will receive an incentive check within four to six weeks after the final application is approved.
