Rochelle Municipal Utilities wants the community to be aware that there will be RMU utility workers and/or contract workers in that area. Please remind children to stay away from the equipment. Residents should also be aware that RMU workers may be on their property marking the placement of underground infrastructure and upgrading the system. Residents are asked to please leave the flag markers in their yard until the work is completed.
Homeowners are not required to place their secondary service underground; however, RMU is offering an underground incentive to homeowners in the area where work is occurring. If a homeowner has an overhead secondary service going to the home and wishes to replace it with an underground service, RMU may pay for the materials needed to get the new underground service to the home.
